Mission

The Defenders' mission aims to provide an affordable, educational and safe environment for youth to participate in sports. The Defenders' basketball program provides an emphasis on diversity, leadership and physical fitness. Defenders Basketball has a long history of developing youth into fundamentally sound basketball players and, more importantly, great people and teammates.

About Us

Established in 2007, Kansas Defenders, Inc. gives Wichita-area youth an opportunity to competitively play sports at the highest level possible. We serve youth ages 3 - 16 from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. Our mission aims to provide an affordable, educational and safe environment for youth to participate in sports; with emphasis on diversity, leadership, teamwork and physical fitness. We set high academic and behavioral expectations for our athletes and encourage them to strive for greatness on and off the court. To learn more about our basketball program, visit the "teams" page.

Licenses & Certifications

  • KBI background check passed by all Defenders coaching staff
  • All coaches have been certified in concussion training consistent with the CDC's Heads Up program
  • Coaching applications completed by all coaches 
  • All coaches meet standard requirements to coach with Kansas Defenders, Inc.
